TOTW: Snider Panthers Boys Volleyball

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – Boys volleyball is about to get its own IHSAA state tournament. However, Snider is getting a head start on bringing home some hardware.

Last week, Snider shocked the Carroll Chargers in the sectional semifinals before knocking off Northrop to bring home a sectional title. The Panthers, along with Homestead, are the only northeast Indiana teams left in the state coaches association tournament.

Ahead of this weekend’s regional round, we’re proud to present Snider boys volleyball as your Optimum Performance Sports Team of the Week!

Snider has only one senior on a team loaded with underclassmen. Deshawn Jones has led the Panthers as an outside hitter for the past two seasons.

Meanwhile, Mang Tung has stepped up as a sophomore captain for the Panthers. Juniors Auron Ganaway and Landen Altic are also among the best attackers lining up in the front row. Meanwhile, Milhija Masic anchors the Panthers’ back row as one of several defensive specialists.

Snider looks to pull off another stunner this weekend when the Panthers visit Fishers in the regional round.
