EASTLAKE, Ohio – The TinCaps pitched six straight scoreless innings to end the game, but the Lake County Captains’ early offense proved to be too much in a 10-1 loss at Classic Auto Group Park on Saturday night.

After Lake County (15-11) scored 10 runs in the first two innings, relievers Bradgley Rodriguez, Will Geerdes, and Ryan Och combined for 6 1/3 shutout innings. The trio only allowed four hits and two walks while striking out eight.

The lone Fort Wayne (10-16) run of the day came off the bat of right fielder Kai Murphy on an RBI double to bring in first baseman Anthony Vilar. Against Lake County this week, Murphy owns a .421 batting average, four doubles, and four RBIs.

The TinCaps had seven hits and drew a pair of walks. Fort Wayne left seven runners on base and was 0-for-3 with runners in scoring position.
