Memorial services for former Florida State quarterback Marcus Outzen will be held in St. Petersburg and in his hometown of Fort Walton Beach.

Outzen died Tuesday, April 30th, after recently being diagnosed with HLH (Hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis) , a rare immune deficiency disorder.

Outzen, 46, lived in St. Petersburg with his wife and their three children and worked professionally in the medical sales industry.

Outzen was raised in Fort Walton Beach and played at FSU under legendary coach Bobby Bowden from 1996-2000.

The first service for Outzen is scheduled for Saturday, May 11th, at 3 p.m. at Northside Baptist Church (6000 38th Ave N). Outzen's family encourages attendees to wear his favorite colors, garnet and gold.

A second memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, May 18th, in Fort Walton Beach. A time and site are to be determined.

A GoFundMe account was established Thursday on behalf of Outzen's wife, Tara Outzen, to help play for their three children's college education.

The initial goal of $80,000 was quickly exceeded and raised to $100,000. Nearly $93,000 was raised by late Friday evening.

"Marcus's passing leaves an indelible void in the hearts of many," said Brad Dempton, Outzen's best friend and roommate at FSU.
