The dream of a dogpile in either Fort Myers or Clermont is still alive for a dozen area baseball and softball programs.

The FHSAA released regional brackets on Saturday morning for the upcoming postseason in each sport, with six Treasure Coast baseball teams and six more softball squads punching their tickets to the big dance.

The local schools that have earned playoff berths include: Jensen Beach (both), John Carroll Catholic (both), Lincoln Park Academy (softball), Martin County (baseball), Sebastian River (softball), St. Lucie West Centennial (softball), South Fork (both), Treasure Coast (baseball) and Vero Beach (baseball).

The action begins Tuesday as baseball regional quarterfinals are scheduled for Class 5A-7A schools. Class 2A-4A programs in baseball and softball hit the field on Wednesday while Class 5A-7A softball get started on Thursday.

Most of the local baseball qualifiers will travel for their postseason openers. Meanwhile, the majority of the softball qualifiers start their playoff journey from home.

Fresh off of capturing the District 14-5A softball championship, South Fork looks to defend their Region 4-5A crown as the No. 2 seed. The Bulldogs plays host to No. 7 Pembroke Pines on Thursday in a rematch of last year's regional final. Also in Region 4-5A, Sebastian River earned the No. 6 seed and plays at No. 3 Sebring.

St. Lucie West Centennial is the final area team in action on Thursday. Coming off a walk-off victory to seal back-to-back district titles, the third-seeded Eagles plays host to No. 6 Harmony.

District champions John Carroll, LPA and Jensen Beach take their first swings on Wednesday. Two of the third teams will take on the teams their beat in their most recent games.

The Falcons are seeded second in Region 4-4A and earned a home date with No. 7 Dr. Joaquin Garcia. The two teams met in District 13-4A Final on last Wednesday in Lake Worth, with Jensen Beach picking up a 7-1 win. Elsewhere, a rematch of the District 13-2A title game is set as No. 3 John Carroll will lock horns once more with No. 6 Oxbridge Academy in a Region 4-2A quarterfinal matchup in Fort Pierce. The Rams defeated ThunderWolves 5-3 on Thursday.

Lastly on the softball front, Lincoln Park Academy is one of the few teams that will host a regional quarterfinal despite being a lower seed. By virtue of winning their district and matched up with a non-district champion, the No. 6-seeded Greyhounds play host to No. 3 Cardinal Gibbons.

On the baseball diamond, only two of the six qualifiers will play in front of their home fans.

Vero Beach, the District 10-7A champs, is back home Tuesday as the No. 2 seed in Region 3-7A and will take on No. 7 Palm Beach Gardens. Treasure Coast, the team Vero defeated for the district championship, is the No. 5 seed in the same region. The Titans will hits the road to Orlando to take on No. 4 Harmony.

Additionally on Tuesday, Martin County and South Fork will each be visitors in their respective matchup. The Tigers, the No. 6 seed in Region 4-6A, heads south for a meeting with No. 7 Dwyer. Meanwhile, in Region 4-5A, the seventh-seeded Bulldogs play at No. 2 Rockledge.

Finally, John Carroll Catholic and Jensen Beach conclude the baseball teams as each will be in uniform on Wednesday.

Jensen Beach has the longest road trip of the area's postseason qualifiers. The Falcons are the fourth seed in Region 4-4A, but will travel to No. 5 Key West.
