Community, guests enjoy another successful Calico Fort

The 52nd Annual Calico Fort Arts and Crafts show went off without a hitch on April 13-14. Fair weather made it possible for volunteers from across Lowndes County to join members of the Fort Deposit Arts Council to host another spectacular event complete with exhibitors, entertainment, great food and fun for children of all ages. A panel of judges selected Exhibitor Award winners listed below:

  • Best in Show – Janice Leach with handmade wood burned art;
  • 1st Place Art – Guy Fuavo with Mango Beats;
  • 2nd Place Art – John Richardson with handmade wood signs and other wood art;
  • 3rd Place Art – Alice Hale with recycled glass, spackle and painted art;
  • 1st Place Craft – David Adams with stained glass;
  • 2nd Place Craft – Jim and Carol Waldrop with silverware jewelry; and
  • 3rd Place Craft – Willie Ivey with wood flower planters, ladders and key holders.
