The Coloradoan is proud to present our weekly Athlete of the Week series for this high school year, partnering with Blue Federal Credit Union to honor the best Fort Collins-area high school athletes.

There are five nominees every week, and fans can vote every Monday through Wednesday at coloradoan.com/sports/high-school-sports .

It's the final month of the school year, meaning spring sports are in full championship season. Here is the 27th edition of the 2023-24 school year for the week of April 28-May 4.

You can find the ballot at the bottom of the page . Voting is open until 11 p.m. Wednesday each week, with the winner announced on Thursday at Coloradoan.com/sports.

Fans can nominate top-performing athletes (deadline: 11:59 p.m. every Sunday), and the Coloradoan Sports staff will ultimately select the five nominees each week.

Previous winner: PSD boys lacrosse star named Blue Federal Credit Union Athlete of the Week

If you have nominations for a future Athlete of the Week, please send them via email to ChrisAbshire@coloradoan.com for consideration.

The following athletes are nominated for their performances last week (April 28-May 4):

    • Isabel Allori, Liberty Common girls track and field: The Eagles senior set a new Colorado state record in the 2-mile run with a time of 10:04.16 to win the 3200-meter Patriot League title. Allori is now just the second Fort Collins athlete with a state track and field record across all classifications.
    • Sybil Arabi, Poudre girls soccer: The Impalas senior finished out her regular season in style last week, scoring two goals each in wins over Monarch and Horizon. Arabi's scoring surge helped Poudre make the 5A playoffs for the first time since 2010.
    • Jake Eccleston, Windsor boys swimming: The Wizards senior has his eyes on more state hardware next week, but he already took two individual league titles (100 fly and 200 free), while also helping Windsor's 200 relay team win, with school records falling in all three events. It was also the Wizards' first-ever NCAC title.
    • Erin Herrmann, Fossil Ridge girls track and field: The SaberCats junior swept Front Range League titles in the throwing event, winning the girls shot put and discus by nearly 4 feet each. After a second-place state shot put finish last season, Herrmann is among the state's elite throwers again.
    • Sean Togher, Fort Collins baseball: The Lambkins senior was an electric two-way player last week, especially in a rivalry win over Rocky Mountain. Togher recorded 5 2/3 innings of shutout ball, allowing just one hit while striking out 15 batters. He also hit a massive solo homer, had an RBI triple and scored two runs in the 6-1 victory.
