Stolen Vehicle Results in Arrest in Fayette County
On July 25, 2024, at 11:24 PM, the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office dispatch center took a report of a stolen vehicle that was parked near the Fayette County Fairgrounds in West Union. The vehicle was described as a white 2016 Cadillac Escalade, parked on Armor Street. The vehicle was entered as stolen and an attempt to locate was put out to area agencies. On July 26, 2024, at 10:09AM a Fayette County Deputy observed the stolen vehicle driving southbound out of West Union on Hwy. 150. A traffic stop was initiated and upon investigation, it was learned that 31-year-old Brianna Christine Hill of Fayette, had taken the Cadillac the previous night. Hill was arrested and charged with Theft in the 1st Degree, a Class C Felony. She is being held at the Fayette County Jail until an initial appearance in court.

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) - A Postville man is facing multiple charges stemming from a hit and run crash that resulted in injuries earlier this month. The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office says 19-year-old Jackson Wedo is charged with Leaving the Scene of a Personal Injury Accident and Following Too Close.
Benefit Swim Thursday (07.25) for Northeast Iowa Girls Injured in Tubing Accident
The New Hampton Swimming Pool will host a benefit swim Thursday (07.25) night on behalf of a pair of Northeast Iowa girls who were injured in a tubing accident. Ashlyn and Delaney Busta of Lawler were involved in a devastating accident while tubing on the Little Turkey River near Waucoma in mid-July. Ashlyn Busta hit her head and was knocked unconscious. She is still hospitalized in Iowa City from a brain bleed, but family members are hopeful for a full recovery. Delaney injured her ankle but has been recovering at home.
