Fraternal Lodge gifts sheriff’s offices fire suppression tools
The Princeton Fraternal Lodge #92 donated four fire suppression tools to local sheriff's offices on Tuesday, May 7. The Sherburne County Sheriff’s Office and the Mille Lacs County Sheriff’s Office each received two of the devices. The devices help suppress fires to help save more of the structures before the fires get out of control.

Motorcycle hits median cable barrier
A Princeton man was injured Saturday, May 11, when the motorcycle he was driving came into contact with a highway median cable barrier in Elk River. Paul Bloomstrand, 62, was riding a 2008 Harley Davidson south on Highway 169 near mile marker 163 when the incident happened, according to the Minnesota State Patrol. It was reported shortly after 11 a.m. The State Patrol described his injuries as non-life-threatening.

Freedom Days starts with ice cream social
The Sherburne History Center will kick off Becker Freedom Days week with its annual Ice Cream Social on Tuesday, June 11, from 6 to 8 p.m. The event features free ice cream treats, art-to-go goodie bags for children, as well as access to the Sherburne Area Visual Arts Showcase, visits to the SHC gallery and walking trails.
