'Big news': Peoria steakhouse to offer lunch daily

PEORIA – Local restaurant Alexander’s Steakhouse shared some “big news” on Nov. 3. Beginning next Monday, Nov. 9, the business will be open daily for lunch. Diners will find a lunch menu, along with the restaurant’s dinner menu, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. After that, the eatery will transition to dinner-only operations. 'Bring your appetite': New sushi spot to host soft opening in Peoria Updated hours at Alexander’s Steakhouse will be 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday. The announcement came hours before the restaurant was named winner of multiple categories in the 2026 Community’s Choice Awards . Credit/debit cards accepted: Yes Hours: 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. every day (winter hours) Entrée price range: $4.23-$15.40 Children’s menu: Yes. Kids under 12 get a free cone with their order from the children’s menu. My order : Fairlane Diner is a 1950s-themed eatery that offers appetizers, nachos, burgers, horseshoes, wraps, other sandwiches, salads, hot dogs, dinner entrees and a variety of ice cream treats. I had a Mushroom & Swiss Basket ($14.60), a double smashburger with mushrooms and cheese, plus a 20-ounce drink and a choice of fries or tater tots. The patties were nicely seasoned and steaming hot; the tots were super crisp. My companion ordered the Club Salad ($12.73), a blend of lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, croutons, turkey, ham, two cheeses and bacon. It was a large salad, and the ingredients were fresh and crunchy. Extra points for the delicious raspberry vinaigrette dressing. Likes: The menu offers a few hard-to-find choices, such as a Chicago Dog Horseshoe and a fried bologna sandwich. Dislikes: None What would I order next time? Next time I won’t make the mistake of not ordering
