Active Weather Starts Today
JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) - Another quiet start this morning but a stormy afternoon on the way. Getting out the door with a few passing clouds and temperatures in the mid and upper 60s today. Areas south of I-20 are seeing dense, patchy fog again so give yourself a little extra time for the morning commute if you’ll be traveling there. You won’t need the jacket, but make sure you bring the umbrella as you head out the door! Coverage of showers and thunderstorms will increase after the lunchtime hours. This will lead to a slow evening commute across central MS. A few storms, especially west of I-55, could reach severe criteria with gusty winds. With a level 1 out of 5 risk for severe storms in those areas, we also cannot rule out a spin-up tornado.
