Deadwood housing development planned near Military Road, Northpointe Drive
ZANESVILLE – Deadwood. It's not just the legendary South Dakota city or an HBO western from the mid-2000s. It's also the name of a new Zanesville housing subdivision to be located near the intersection of Military Road and Northpointe Drive. The site is a little over 44 acres and located across from the Sandhurst Apartments and next to the Zanesville Country Club. The goal is to build 96 market-rate, single-family homes, explained Matt Schley, Zanesville's community development director. "We've been aware that there was a good possibility that this site would get developed," Schley explained to the Times Recorder in January, making it the third subdivision approved in 18 months . It's too early in the process for the lots to have a specific pricing range, he added. The project has been moving behind the scenes for around two years now after Deadwood City Developers LLC, a partnership led by local real estate developer Jamey Krouskoupf , first bought the property for $420,000 in July 2021. It's now in its preliminary platting phase, which was agreed upon in January 2026, Schley said. It gave Deadwood City Developers a year, or through January 2027, to file its final plat with Zanesville.

Rezoning at The Ridges moves forward, plans shift timeline
Land at The Ridges might be transitioning from educational use to residential development. According to Athens City Council member Alan Swank, D-4th Ward, the 317 Board is interested in adding housing to an area currently designated as E1, which is for educational use. For the land to qualify as residential, it must be reclassified to R3, indicating multi-family housing.

Defendants in housing development suit ask that it be dismissed
The defendants in a lawsuit filed by a group of property owners in a Thornville housing development, who are seeking information that includes a full accounting of the community’s financial records, have asked a judge to dismiss the suit. As previously reported in The Perry County Tribune, in October 2025 a group of 19 residents of the Snug Harbor Estates Community filed a civil complaint in Perry County Common Pleas Court, naming as defendants the Snug Harbor Master Association, the Snug Harbor Estates Community Association, and Triglyph Holdings LLC. The suit says that Triglyph developed the Snug Harbor Estates Community by selling real property to individuals including the plaintiffs, and created the Master Association and Community Association in April 2012. The plaintiffs have claimed that their attorney has sent a letter to “some or all” of the defendants, asking for a list of items that includes the articles of incorporation and code of regulations for the community; names and addresses of all current members of the Community Association’s board of trustees; the name of the president and/or owner of Triglyph Holdings; minutes from board meetings from 2022 to the present; any and all contracts with any entity or individual that
