Driver arrested for OWI after striking a powerline in Fitchburg

FITCHBURG, Wis. -- A driver was arrested for OWI after striking a powerline on CTH MM and McCoy Road Sunday in Fitchburg.

Fitchburg Police say the driver was operating south bound on CTH MM south of McCoy Road, when the vehicle crossed over the northbound lanes and drove off the road.

Police say the driver did not appear to be injured and was checked out by EMS at the scene.

An OWI investigation was completed and the driver was arrested for OWI (1st offense).

CTH MM between Lacy Road and McCoy was closed to fix the powerline.

Police say CTH MM was now open to traffic.
