HAZARD, Ky. (WKRC) - A kiosk at the University of Kentucky allows people to retire American flags. According to WDKY-TV, the University of Kentucky's Center of Excellence in Rural Health (UK CERH) in Hazard unveiled a tool to properly retire an American flag in early July. Per the outlet, the university's new kiosk was the idea of veterans who work at the center and felt it was needed in the community.

As Hazard’s downtown revitalization efforts continue, one local business has found a home and success there while building a community at the same time. Owned and operated by Stephen and Maggie Prosser, Hazard Coffee Company began three and a half years ago on Taxi Alley, a stone’s throw from their current location on Main Street. Quickly outgrowing the space and with help from the community, the shop has now flourished into its home at the heart of Hazard.
