Local agencies conduct full-scale multi-casualty drill in Sparks
RENO, Nev. (KOLO) - The City of Sparks and Northern Nevada Public Health, in partnership with local hospitals, law enforcement, emergency responders, and members of the Inter-Hospital Coordinating Council conducted a one-day, full-scale exercise to test local response in the case of a multi-casualty incident (MCI). The exercise also tested the MCI Plan, specifically focusing on the self-transport component and surge of the emergency departments.
V&T Railroad to begin 49th season Memorial Day weekend
The Virginia Truckee Railroad will begin its 49th season on Saturday, May 25, with a schedule of steam and diesel locomotives. The train ride departs daily from the original Virginia City Depot. LCSO, North Lyon Fire confirm former Fernley councilmember McCassie dead
At 7:37 p.m. May 2, Lyon County Sheriff’s Office and North Lyon Fire Department personnel were dispatched to the 1000 block of Red Rock Road in Fernley for a report of a medical emergency. Once on scene, lifesaving efforts were conducted, but ultimately, Dan McCassie of Fernley was confirmed deceased from what investigators believe to be natural causes. This is an active and ongoing investigation.
