FERDINAND, Ind. (WEHT) – Forest Park baseball is ranked no. 2 in the state for 2A.

The Rangers aren’t strangers to being looked at highly. Last year, they were highly rated before losing in the sectional to Perry Central.

Senior shortstop, Reid Howard, believes the key to making a deeper postseason run is pitching depth.

“Our pitching is deeper than last year. Last year, Clayton Weisheit was obviously a big part. But this year, we have five guys that we can roll out any night and get the win,” said Howard.

The sectional round is key for pitching depth, because it has the most amount of games in a short time period. It’s easier to ride an ace the rest of the state tournament.
