Weippe Author Jim Head Reaches Sixteen Books in Circuit Rider Mysteries
Jim Head has written sixteen books in the Circuit Rider Mysteries, a series that follows Reverend Elias Cane, a Methodist circuit rider who sees the good in people and helps those wrongly accused. The milestone comes as Head continues to add to both the Circuit Rider Mysteries and the Making of Elias Cane series. Head, who lives in Weippe, Idaho, writes for adult readers of historical fiction and Christian mystery. His books combine the two genres into one story. The series is set in a world that draws on Head's own interests. “I enjoy watching John Wayne Westerns and mystery television shows like Father Dowling, so I just combined the two into something I felt was missing,” Head said. That combination has produced a body of work that Head says is meant to be enjoyed without what he calls filthy language or sex. “I write books that don't rely on filthy language or sex to hook readers. I want them to just enjoy the read,” he said. Readers looking for historical fiction and Christian mystery books can find the Circuit Rider Mysteries and the Making of Elias Cane series through Jim Head Books. The website lists the available titles. The

Spokane Halloween bashes to check-out this weekend
Though bar-hopping on Halloween night maximizes the number of people who see your super cool, niche, unique, never-been-done-before costume, the Chameleon is hosting a party so big that you may as well make the music venue your one-stop-shop this Halloween. If you’re a fiend for the local scene, see ’80s-infused band Starcourt, indie rockers The Bed Heads (pictured), the punkish Tomboy, Blunt Skulls and Psychic Death, the aptly named Spøøky, and the always-enigmatic Vika, across three stages. If that’s not enough, witness killer drag performances, DJs, participate in the $500 costume contest, drink a themed cocktail, and even get a flash tattoo on-site to round out this spooky soiree.
