FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — Nearly every school in the University of Arkansas system is requesting increases in tuition and mandatory fees for the 2024-25 school year.

At the University of Arkansas, room and board rates for almost every dorm are going up by at least $500, and every meal plan is also going to be more expensive.

It’s a similar story for the cost of a credit hour with increases for both undergrads and graduate students.

Other schools in the system including University of Arkansas-Fort Smith and University of Arkansas at Little Rock are also raising tution.

“Like most sectors of the economy, higher education is dealing with higher inflation, while state funding has remained relatively flat during recent years,” said Nate Hinkel, director of communications for the University of Arkansas system.

The full breakdown of the proposed increases can be found in the document above.
