Two Suburban Teenagers Wounded in Weekend Shooting on Detroit's Lodge Freeway
Two suburban teenagers driving in a car on the Lodge Freeway early Sunday morning were shot and wounded, according to the Michigan State Police. There have been no arrests. At about 1:30 a.m., police received a call about a single-car crash from an 18-year-old motorist from West Bloomfield who said he'd been shot and was hiding, along with his Southfield passenger, 19. Shortly after, a vehicle crashed into his abandoned car. That driver suffered minor injuries.
Driver involved in double-fatal accident in Shelby Township arraigned on two misdemeanors
SHELBY TOWNSHIP, Mich. (FOX 2) - A Westland man appeared in court last Friday where he faced a judge after being accused of causing the deaths of two women in a violent crash on M-53. Jose Eugeno Medina-Hernandez, 33, was driving a box truck when he rear-ended one car, causing a chain reaction with two other vehicles and leading to the deaths of a 63-year-old and an 88-year-old.

ATM Technician Fights Off Robbers, Stabs Assailant in Center Line Heist Attempt
An ATM technician in Center Line, Michigan found themselves at the center of a reported robbery gone awry. The repairman, servicing a Bank of America ATM on the corner of 10 Mile Rd. and Van Dyke Ave., was assaulted by three men last Thursday, as confirmed by multiple sources. The Macomb Daily reports that the suspects, described as three Black males each around 5-foot-11, attacked the technician, pinning him to his work van while raiding the cash machine.
Over 126,000 pounds of food donated to Metro Detroit food bank
(CBS DETROIT) - The annual Stamp Out Hunger food drive in Macomb County is reported to have collected more than 126,000 pounds of food.Local postal workers and volunteers collected the non-perishable foods for the 32nd annual event. The food now gets sorted and boxed at the Community Food Bank of Macomb County in Clinton Township."The demand of food has gone up. I have been here only a few years, and [in] the few short years I've been here, I've probably seen it close to double the demand," said Alec Williams of the Community Food Bank.Volunteers and those involved with the food bank participate in the sorting and boxing process. The food is then distributed to 50-60 pantries throughout Macomb County.CBS News Detroit learned that this particular food drive is scheduled strategically, just before school gets out, when they normally see a demand for food due to kids being home and not getting the meals they normally would get during a school day.If you'd like to donate, visit the Community Food Bank of Macomb County's website.
