Bidders on 122-acre North Royalton parcel should consider its higher public use
In North Royalton, a large parcel of land will be up for auction June 8. This 122 acres is, to my knowledge, the largest single parcel of privately owned land in the city of North Royalton. It is also a watershed for the East Branch of the Rocky River with a pond and stream, and is adjacent to the recently added watershed parcel acquired by the Cleveland Metroparks. It contains both meadow and forest, and would be extremely valuable for public use and enjoyment. There is a large barn, which could be refurbished and rented, as well as two houses, which could be used for either office or event rental. The North Royalton High School could use the land for cross-country meets, and the public could benefit from trails and bird-watching, as at the former Richfield Coliseum site.
