ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — The Perinton Historical Society hosted a Bon Voyage Reception for local Veterans at the Fairport Museum on Sunday.

This free event was planned to honor local World War II Veterans and to commemorate the 80th anniversary of D-Day. Attendees got the chance to meet four local veterans and thank them for their service while learning the history of the war.

Veterans, Tom Conners, Joe Grossman, Robert “Al” Persichitti, and Siegfried “Ziggy” Weinthal are getting the chance to go to commemoration ceremonies in Normandy, France, and get to visit the National World War II Museum in New Orleans as well.
