Fairport track star wins Advantage Federal Credit Union's Girls Sports Athlete of the Week

With over 180,000 votes, Emma Blodgett is the Advantage Federal Credit Union's Girls Sports Athlete of the Week.

The Fairport senior, a hurdler on the track and field team, won the Cedric Walker Memorial 400-meter hurdles race and ran the anchor leg on the first-place 1,600 relay during the His and Her Invitational at Churchville-Chili. She also won the 400 hurdles race in 1 minute, 7.21 seconds and ran with the first-place 1,600 relay during a dual meet earlier in the week. This is the fastest time reported in Section V this season.

During the spring season, the polls launch on Mondays at democratandchronicle.com to determine the Athlete of the Week from the previous week's top performances.

Your vote determines who is honored as Section V 's best.
