Ferrisburgh woman arrested for domestic, simple assault, and burglary
FERRISBURGH — A 33-year-old woman from Orwell was arrested late Saturday night following a family fight that led to multiple assault charges, Vermont State Police said. Heather Rule was taken into custody after troopers responded to a report of an assault involving a household member on Plank Rd. in Ferrisburgh at 8:43 p.m., according to the Vermont State Police – New Haven.
Brooklyn man sentenced in drug case that originated in 2012
A Brooklyn man will be behind bars at Marble Valley Regional Correctional in Rutland for most of the year in connection with a narcotics case dating back more than a decade. The Vermont Attorney General’s Office says Maleek Drummond, 43, has been sentenced to ten to eleven months in prison with credit for time served. He’d pleaded guilty in Middlebury to possession of two grams or more of heroin.

Correctional officer accused of smuggling contraband into Vt. prison
RUTLAND, Vt. (WCAX) - A Vermont correctional officer faces charges after investigators say he smuggled contraband into a prison. Vermont State Police say David Orvis, 28, of Rutland, coordinated with at least two separate inmates to transport tobacco into the Marble Valley Correctional Facility.
