    Saturday Seacoast roundup: Exeter's Piwnicki has complete-game win over rival Winnacunnet

    HAMPTON - Senior Cam Piwnicki struck out seven and allowed just two infield hits as the Exeter High School baseball team beat rival Winnacunnet, 3-1 on Saturday in a Division I game at Tom Blair Field.

    Zach Hill had two of Exeter's five hits; his single to right in the fourth inning scored Finn Adams and gave the Blue Hawks a 2-1 lead. Exeter added an insurance run in the seventh as an Adams' single scored Cam Keaveney.

    Exeter improved to 10-1, while Winnacunnet is 5-7.

    Winnacunnet starter Jones Vicinus struck out nine and allowed three hits and three runs, two earned, over five innings. Miles Pratt and Zach Conlon each had a hit for Winnacunnet.

    BASEBALL

    Inter-Lakes 4

    MEREDITH - Simon Grandmaison allowed two hits and struck out six over seven innings, leading Somersworth to this Division III win.

    Grandmaision also had two hits and an RBI. Lukas Kelly also had two hits for the Hilltoppers, while Camden Pettengill, Logan Perreault, Carter Morgan, Thurston Boilard, Jackson Dumont, and Kaden Bickford all had one.

    DURHAM - Cam Sengernberger had a three-run double for Oyster River in this Division II loss.

    YORK, Maine - Freshman Sarah Orso had four hits and two RBIs, and senior McKayla Kortes had three hits and two RBIs for York (6-0) in this Class B South win.

    Nya Avery added two hits and two RBIs for the Wildcats, while Maddie Fitzgerald and Bella Santini both had two hits. Hannah Cleary (double, RBI), Ava Brent (double, RBI), Lindsay Rivers (double), Emily Estes (single) and Maya Babcock (single) all joined the hit parade.

    GIRLS LACROSSE

    YORK, Maine - Grace Clayton had four goals, Ava Fontaine had two, and Sophia Luchette and Chloe Ridley both had one for York in this Class B loss.

    York goalie Tia Spenlinhauer had 10 saves.

    DURHAM - Sofie Gibson (No. 1, 8-5), Clea Gibson (No. 2, 8-3), Kathryn Demarest (No, 3, 8-4), Sofia Karageorgos (No. 4, 8-1), Siena Schaier (No. 5, 8-2) and Jessica Li (No. 6, 8-1) all won in singles action for Oyster River in this Division II match.

    In doubles, the Gibsons won 8-2 at No. 1, Demarest and Karageorgos won 8-2 at No. 2, and Schaier and Rose Goldsmith won 8-1 at No. 3.

    ALTON - Irina Steinberg (No. 1, 9-7), Anna Seifert (No. 2, 8-0), Julia Behre (No. 4, 8-1), Morgan Hoyt (No. 5, 8-3) and Maggie Wade (No. 6, 8-0) all won in singles action for St. Thomas in this Division III match.

    In doubles, Behre and Seifert won 8-6 in No. 2, and Wade and Hoyt won 8-2 at No. 3.
