Report airs out Central Valley pollution dilemma
LOS ANGELES, CALIF. – The American Lung Association released its 25th annual “State of the Air” report, and the news is not good for residents of the Central Valley. In the report, Tulare County, Fresno, Kern, Kings and 26 other California counties received failing grades for the three measures of pollution – unhealthy ozone pollution days, unhealthy particle pollution days and/or annual particle pollution levels. But unlike Fresno, which saw marginal improvement in the number of its ozone days, Visalia took a major step backward by its highest number of unhealthy particle days in the history of the report.

Fire Station 72 Classroom remodel project complete
The classroom remodel project at Fire Station 72 at 500 N. Newcomb Street near the intersection of Newcomb and Morton was recently completed. The project was approved by the Porterville City Council “as an integral step to accommodate fire personnel during the future remodels of all three existing fire stations, as well as to provide an opportunity for housing and services during emergencies and training,” the city stated.

COS Men’s Baseball Season Ender
The College of the Sequoias Men’s baseball team lost their last game of the season. The Fresno City Rams beat them 30-0 on Thursday afternoon. The Giants had already faced the Rams in February and were swept in a three-game series. Up until Thursday’s loss, their biggest loss was in game three against the Rams in that February series, 25-11.
