2 Tulare County restaurants ace September inspections, 5 fall short

Each month, the Visalia Times-Delta lets you know which Tulare County restaurants aced their inspections, as well as which ones need to make improvements. Only restaurants that offer meals and provide tables to their customers are included. Restaurants with inspection scores between 90-99, which are the majority of scores, are not included in this report. This report is based on the Tulare County Environmental Health Division report that was released on Nov. 2, 2026. Tulare County's best restaurant inspections The following restaurants met all standards during their September inspections and no violations were found. Their scores are considered perfect. While No. 4 seed Kingsburg handled business in Division II with a 47-13 victory over No. 13 Golden West, the division’s other playoff games provided plenty of drama. No. 12 San Joaquin Memorial rallied from a 21-7 halftime deficit to stun No. 5 Central Valley Christian 33-28. Jayden Jenkins scored on a 3-yard run with 25 seconds remaining to cap the comeback and give the Panthers the victory. The fourth quarter featured plenty of back-and-forth action. Woodlake football captures third straight East Sequoia League title

Winning. That's the culture at Woodlake High School. Under fifth-year head coach Manny Martinez, the Tigers football program captured their third straight East Sequoia League championship this season, going a perfect 4-0 to win an outright league title. Since Martinez arrived as head coach in 2022, Woodlake has been the class of the ESL, going 25-7 in league play, including a dominating 16-2 mark from 2024 to this fall. How has Woodlake (8-2) sustained that success? "I think just the consistency of the weight room, and being consistent on and off the field," Martinez said. "The consistency the boys are getting used to week in and week out. Lake Success - CA (Tulare County) The lake level remained low at approximately 10% of its storage capacity, while bass fishing was good. Anglers caught quality largemouth bass around submerged trees, main lake points, and the dam in 10 to 25 feet of water. Drop-shot rigs, creature baits, and spider jigs in green pumpkin, brown, and purple patterns all produced fish, while A-rigs also proved effective. Some of the larger bass were caught on 8- and 10-inch worms and crankbaits fished near submerged trees. Some anglers reported success with the brass and glass technique. Crappie reports were limited, but anglers found good-quality fish near submerged vegetation, with small live minnows and mini jigs producing the best results. Catfish action was good, with dip bait, cut sardines, and chicken liver accounting for catches. The CDFW have a scheduled trout stocking here next week, first one of the season.

Orosi football eyes section title after dominant league season

No Tulare County high school football team may have been as dominant as the Orosi Cardinals in the regular season. Orosi won an outright East Sequoia League-Redwood championship, not allowing a single point in conference action in what may be one of the most dominant runs in league play in Tulare County history. The Cardinals (9-1, 4-0) cruised through league play, outscoring their foes 211-0 and posting four shutouts. All of their league wins came via the 35-point mercy rule. Their league victories? A 49-0 rout of Parlier. A 49-0 shutout over Farmersville. A 42-0 blanking of Riverdale and a 71-0 demolition of Orange Cove. Of Orosi's nine wins, six came via running clock, including a 42-6 victory over Fowler and a 56-7 decision at Lindsay. Taha Saleh has widened his lead against Porterville mayor Greg Meister in the race to represent District 2 on the City Council in Tuesday's midterm election.
