HENDERSON, Ky (WEHT) – An Evansville man is in custody after police say he was caught with meth after slumping at the wheel picking his child up from daycare.

According to an affidavit, officers were called early Friday evening for someone slumped over the steering wheel. EPD says they were looking in the 300 block of Mary for a white Toyota Camry with a child in the backseat.

When officers found the car, EPD says a man was slumped over. He was identified as Timothy Stull II. Officials say he was not alert, dazed and confused when he woke up.

Stull was ordered out of the car and placed into custody. Officers reportedly saw a white rock substance in a clear bag in his hand, and the bag tested positive for meth. They also say Stull had two burnt sores on his lip. The sores were recognized from smoking a hot pipe.

Stull said the child and vehicle was his and that he had just picked the child up from daycare.

Officers reportedly found a glass smoking pipe in the center console, a paper with a white rock-like substance next to the gear shifter and a clear bag with a white rock-like substance inside a cigarette pack in the cup holder.

The affidavit says all items were in reach of the child when Stull passed out.

EPD says the mother of the child was called to pick up the child while Stull was taken to the Vanderburgh County Jail. He claimed he had been clean for four years and just recently relapsed.
