Kirkwood escapes upset in first round of Regional tournament
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa — The #8 Kirkwood softball team narrowly avoided a shocking loss to Northeast Community College on Friday afternoon, beating the 5-win Red Hawks 4-3. Kirkwood advances to the semifinals of their Regional bracket where they'll play again on Saturday afternoon.
Meyer, SV track excel at JCAA meet
There were plenty of great finishes for the St. Vincent and Perryville track teams at the Jefferson County Athletic Association Conference meet. However, no one athlete had a better meet than St. Vincent sophomore Reagan Meyer finished with two first place finishes and another second place at the meet April 24-25 at Hillsboro High School.
Duvall sets the tone for the Parkway Central Colts boys volleyball team
Spencer Duvall never imagined himself as a setter for the Parkway Central boys’ volleyball team. The 6-foot-4, 160-pound junior had to be convinced. “Before high school season, I had played middle mostly. I had played a small amount of outside and maybe opposite, but I had never touched setting,” Duvall said.
