Alleged shooter struck by vehicle, injured in Suffolk
SUFFOLK, Va. — An investigation is underway after authorities say a man who opened fire was struck by a vehicle he shot at in Suffolk just after noon Tuesday. The Suffolk Police Department said a man, who has not been publicly identified, shot at a vehicle carrying three men on Lee Street near West Washington Street at 12:06 p.m. The driver in turn struck the alleged shooter with his vehicle, wounding the man.

ECU Health’s effort to attract more doctors to rural communities has been successful with two of four practitioners in its inaugural Rural Family Medicine Residency Program class agreeing to stay in Duplin and Hertford counties.
