ERIE, Pa. ( WJET/WFXP ) — A dog adopted about five years ago from a local rescue center enjoyed the spotlight at maybe the most prestigious dog show in the country.

Miles, a mixed breed mutt from “Because You Care,” was able to rank and compete at the 148th annual Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show.

His owner began doing agility training with him early on which executive director Megan Duckett said can be done with any rescue dog.

According to Duckett, the owner said that he was deemed un-adoptable and made an amazing turnaround.

What are Pennsylvanians’ average wages compared to other parts of the state?

“We see it a lot. The dogs and cats come in from abused situations or just weren’t wanted or unexpected litters or dropped right off at our door so to be able to get them all healthy and see them turn around and then have their families send us pictures of them loving life at the beach, they’re with the kids I mean it makes the hard work all worth it,” said Duckett.

Duckett added it’s great to show what rescue dogs can do.
