It was a perfect night for baseball Tuesday as the Erie SeaWolves played their home opener in front of their loyal fanbase.

The SeaWolves were champions of the MILB’s Eastern League last year, and fans hoped the team could keep the ball rolling again this year.

The organization started the night by unveiling its Eastern League Championship banner for the first time ever.

Fans could expect the familiar, family-friendly ballpark experience at every home game this season.

The fans are something members of the SeaWolves front office said make these games such a treat, and the team is always looking to find ways to out-do themselves each year.

We spoke to several fans, one celebrating his 9th birthday, about what they were looking forward to most

“Probably a home run in this game and probably in the other game, a goal from the Otters!” said Wyatt Eliason, SeaWolves fan celebrating his birthday.

“We were here for the championship game last year, so we had to come for the presentation. We couldn’t miss it!” said Richard Wood, a SeaWolves fan. “We couldn’t wait for the celebration. It’s just great, Erie people are great. This is where I’m from originally, I was gone for a long time. It’s great to come back to minor league ball and the people here are so nice, they treat you good and we really appreciate it. Go seawolves!”

Stay tuned during JET 24/ FOX 66 for much more on the SeaWolves.
