New AMVETS thrift store breaking ground this weekend

( WJET/WFXP ) — A new AMVETS National Service Foundation (NSF) thrift store will host its grand opening this weekend in the Erie region.

The grand opening for the store will take place at 3424 Liberty St. on March 30 from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

According to a release, the event will kick off with a ribbon cutting at 8:45 a.m. to open the store where guests can win prizes, check out discounted items up to 50% off and have a special meet-and-greet and the Easter Bunny.

“We are thrilled to open our doors in Erie and extend our mission of supporting veterans,” said Keith Haley, national thrift store director of AMVETS NSF. “The grand opening celebration is a wonderful opportunity for the community to come together, enjoy some festivities and show their support for our nation’s heroes.”
