Warming up Wednesday before some wet weather returns
LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - Lincoln woke up to a cloudy, damp Tuesday morning, with light rain and drizzle lingering across southeastern Nebraska from overnight showers. While rainfall totals remained modest — just a hundredth of an inch at Lincoln Airport — some areas east of town saw a quarter inch or more.

THE WEEK AHEAD: Still warm with several chances at rain in the lead up to Halloween
A front is dividing our region in terms of temperature. Highs south of I-80 reached the 80s, while neighborhoods in northeast Nebraska are in the 50s. This divide grows more stark on Monday as a cold front arrives. Highs south of I-80 will be in the upper 70s, Omaha around 70, and highs over northeast NE drop into the 40s by the afternoon.

Matt’s First Alert 6 Forecast: Rain chances most of the week, including Halloween
OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - This slow upper-level low is finally starting to get into eastern Nebraska on Monday evening. Scattered light rain is possible through Tuesday morning. You could hear a few rumbles of thunder late on Wednesday along a cold front. The drop in temperatures is minimal later this week, with highs in the 60s and 70s. Light rain is a good bet on Halloween, but weather for trick-or-treating and the Husker game is trending in the right direction.

Matt’s First Alert 6 Forecast: The warm weather starts to fade away this weekend
OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - Omaha reached the low 80s Friday, and it could happen again tomorrow. A cold front starts to push across eastern Nebraska Saturday, with a little rain well west of the metro. It does drop temperatures Sunday and Monday, though a lot of the rain does not arrive until Monday night. Looking ahead to Halloween, I do not have much change in the forecast, however, there are signals of a more organized system in the middle of the country.
