Eight Eagles sign as Carroll hosts ceremony for student athletes
OZARK, Ala (WDHN) — Eight student athletes signed their letters of intent to continue their athletic careers with their respective colleges of choice Tuesday. Shuntavious Steward, Qua’Darious Lightner, Lakeith Person, and Keyshawn Cole were four former Eagle football players who participated in the ceremony. Steward and Lightner are bound for Andrew College in Cuthbert, Ga., while Person is off to Huntingdon College in Montgomery and Cole to Hutchison Community College in Kansas.
Wicksburg and Ariton baseball set to face off in round two of the AHSAA playoffs
ARITON, Ala (WDHN) — The AHSAA state baseball playoffs enter round two tomorrow as the defending 2A champion Ariton Purple Cats prepare to host the Wicksburg Panthers. Having faced off earlier in the season, the Panthers secured a victory over Ariton, setting the stage for a rematch between the familiar foes. Despite the setback, the Purple Cats remain undeterred, fully aware of the target on their backs.
