Encinitas Express Girls U16 soccer team wins division at Elite 2024 Socal State Cup

The Encinitas Express Girls U16 soccer team recently won their division at the Elite 2024 Socal State Cup held over a four-week period at the SoCal Sports Complex in Oceanside and SilverLakes Equestrian Sports Park in Norco, Calif.

The team consists of 14 bright and athletic players and their coach Phil Shuttleworth. This team has grown together to become friends and equals. They are all standouts in different ways, respectful and trusting of one another's learning process on and off the ball. The strong local roots and community values of this team helped them get the win. Eleven of the 14 players are San Dieguito Union High School District students. This team now qualifies for the US National Cup Finals to be held in Denver, Colo., in July. -- News release
