Escondido police continue search for missing man, this time with K-9s
Escondido police are not giving up the search for a missing man whose truck was found without him more than a week ago. About 34 officers and deputies with San Diego County Sheriff's Department Search and Rescue team on Tuesday morning went back to the last known location of 54-year-old William Purper in the hopes they can locate the reported missing person. Two K-9s were also in tow.

Pedestrian Dies After Being Struck by One Vehicle, Run Over by Another in Oceanside
A pedestrian in his 40s was killed when he was struck by a vehicle in Oceanside on Monday night, authorities reported Tuesday. The Oceanside Police Department said the collision occurred at about 9 p.m. when a gold Nissan Murano heading east on Mission Avenue collided with the pedestrian who was crossing the road about 100 yards west of Ocean Puente.
