Pitching ruled the day at Carlisle Wednesday afternoon, as Gettysburg’s Tegan Kuhns and Wes Coolbaugh combined on a one-hitter as the Warriors edged the Herd. Kuhns went the first four innings and did not surrender a hit while striking out eight and walking just one. Coolbaugh, while giving up the lone Carlisle hit, struck out three and issued just a single base on balls. Carson Kuhns was the offensive hero for the Warriors, with two of his team’s three hits and the lone RBI.
Six Washington County high schools will offer girls flag football in the fall

Baltimore Boxing to Honor Davey Steck Jr. May 11
Jake Smith’s Baltimore Boxing Promotions will pay respects to late amateur boxer Davey Steck Jr. during their card on Saturday, May 11. Steck Jr., a graduate of Baltimore’s Perry Hall High School, passed away on April 14. Baltimore Boxing Promotions will have an honorary 10 count and host a 50/50, with the proceeds going to Steck Jr’s family. Steck Jr. was scheduled to fight May 11.

Carson Kuhns singled home the game-winning run in the sixth Wednesday for Gettysburg in a 1-0 win over Carlisle. He finished with two of the Warriors three hits in the game. Wes Coolbaugh got the win, pitching three innings, striking out three while allowing just one hit and no earned runs. Tegan Kuhns started and struck out eight across four innings without giving up an earned run.
Samantha Carbaugh homers as Gettysburg gets by Carlisle
Samantha Carbaugh led the way Wednesday for Gettysburg in an 11-8 win over Carlisle. She was 1-for-3 with a home run and four RBIs. Emily Haines had a big game, too, going 3-for-3 with three doubles and three RBIs. Emily Holtzopple had two RBIs, and Aubry Forsythe and Megan Mussleman each had one.
