EMINENCE, Mo. — Chief Jim Bay of the Eminence Area Volunteer Fire Department (EAVFD) gave an update Tuesday on the cause of the fire that burnt down their fire department on March 5.

Bay told OzarksFirst that the cause of the fire was undetermined, saying the damage was too much and the building was “too far gone” to figure out the cause of the fire. The fire chief did say that the fire started in the northwest corner of the building next to one of the fire trucks.

Luckily, Bay says several fire departments from across the country are continuing to donate to the fire department to help them recover. Those donations include six fire trucks that were given to the EAVFD, including one from all the way out of Long Island, New York.
