CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WBOY) — West Virginia’s Free Fishing Days will return on Saturday, June 8 and Sunday, June 9, Gov. Jim Justice announced Friday.

During those two days, residents and non-residents alike can fish for free, no fishing license required.

There will be fishing derbies for anglers ages 3 to 14 held on June 8 as part of the event at Little Beaver State Park and Bowden Fish Hatchery. Both will be free to attend; kids must be registered by an adult in order to participate and win prizes.

The Little Beaver State Park derby in Raleigh County is scheduled for 9 a.m. to noon, with registration from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Kids should bring their own gear, and only a limited amount of bait will be provided.
