ELIZABETH, NJ - Elizabeth Varsity Baseball’s 13th victory of the season came via a 6-5 decision against Perth Amboy.

Perth Amboy got off to a quick start in the contest, scoring a run a piece in the opening two frames to establish a lead. The third and fourth innings is where the Minutemen bats set the tone, scoring three runs in each frame to take a commanding 6-3 lead.

A sixth-inning rally saw the Panthers claw back within one, but it wasn’t enough as Elizabeth’s pitching staff rallied to halt the comeback effort.

Ian Acevedo, Stanley Bobadilla, Landon Jones, and Alex Cras each recorded multi-hit efforts for the Minutemen. Acevedo added two RBIs and Derek Escobar added two of his own on an RBI single.

Next up for Elizabeth is a home matchup against Union on Thursday at 4 p.m.
