New studio apartments for college students to be built along West Avenue
More student housing is on the way, in the West Avenue neighborhood of La Crosse. On Wednesday, a groundbreaking was held along West Avenue at Badger Street for a 46-unit building to be called Badger West, being constructed by Three Sixty Real Estate. Spokesman Jeremy Novak from Three Sixty says the studio apartments will be furnished, with an eye toward college students who are close to graduation. “Upperclassmen, so juniors and seniors and graduate students like to live alone,” said Novak. “They’ve kind of gone through the roommate thing, and they don’t want to have roommates potentially,” he says, pointing out that the older students want to get through their school work.
