El Paso Museum of History unveils new exhibition

EL PASO, Texas, ( KTSM ) — The El Paso Museum of History is preparing to show the community their new and free exhibition. “Dualidad: Indigenous Gender Identity in the American Southwest and Mexico” will be unveiled on Thursday, March 28 and will stay open until March 2025.

“Dualidad” is a look into Southwest U.S. and Mexican indigenous tribes and the connection to members who identify as gender-nonconforming.

The exhibition will highlight the following tribes:

  • Zuni
  • Diné (Navajo)
  • Apache
  • Laguna/Acoma/Pueblo
  • Mexica
  • Rarámuri
  • Zapoteca

These tribes have honored gender-nonconforming members as foundational to their respective cultures, according to the news release.
