Carbondale Trustees meet to discuss new aquatic center
The Carbondale Board of Trustees met Tuesday, May 14th, to discuss upcoming events, board priorities, and more. The meeting began with public comments, mainly focused on local traffic concerns. The meeting then moved into a discussion of accounts payable, including the energy bill, and a bill for Roaring Fork Engineering for replacing some utility systems.
Let’s bring Krabloonik dog-sledding to an end
This is in response to a May 3 Snowmass Sun article discussing the proposal to reopen Krabloonik as a tourism dogsledding site with increased “quality of care” measures. According to the article, the things that Krabloonik kennel manager Ethan Marsh proposes (treating the dogs better; implementing a spay/neuter program; implementing an off-tether program; implementing an adoption program) were already legal requirements when Dan Phillips took over ownership of the kennel. Yet these requirements were not accomplished in nearly a decade of Phillips’ ownership.
