12-year-old threatened administrators of Monroe County school, police say
A 12-year-old boy is accused of making violent threats toward administrators at the Monroe County middle school he attended, state police said. The boy was arrested Monday and charged with causing or risking a catastrophe, threat to use weapons of mass destruction, making terroristic threats and reckless endangerment in the case. He was sent to a Northampton County juvenile detention center.

East Stroudsburg school board approves six-year contract with raises for teachers
The East Stroudsburg school board unanimously approved a six-year contract with the East Stroudsburg Education Association at Monday’s meeting. Under the new contract, a teacher with a bachelor’s degree on the first step of the pay scale will earn $63,385 in 2024-25 and $73,385 in 2029-30, the final year of the contract.
