A woman suffered "serious injuries" in a shooting Tuesday morning in Peoria. Peoria police say a woman was found with gunshot wounds in the 2500 block of West Marquette Street around 8 a.m. Tuesday morning. She was taken to a hospital for treatment. There have been 103 shooting incidents in Peoria this year, according to Peoria police data — a 23% increase from 2022. COVID hospital admission rates are rising in the Peoria area. Here's what to know
PEORIA - COVID hospital admission levels are rising, and the area health departments are asking people to take precautions. The number of hospitalized people testing positive for COVID-19 in Peoria and Tazewell counties rose 21.7% in the week of Nov. 19-25, with 56 people testing positive, a rate of 15.1 positive cases per 100,000 residents, according to the CDC's COVID tracker.
