New York Man Seriously Injured in Early Morning Crash on I-287 in Edison

EDISON, NJ - A New York man sustained serious injuries in a motor vehicle accident on Interstate 287 in Edison Township during the early morning hours on Monday, according to New Jersey State Police. No other serious injuries have been reported at this time.

Police say they responded to the accident at 12:31 AM at the 1.2 mile milepost on Interstate 287. According to a preliminary investigation, a Mercedes was driving northbound and became disabled after a single vehicle crash.

The driver, a 59-year-old man from Brooklyn, exited the vehicle and stood near it, according to a press release. Police say that s Freightliner tractor-trailer, traveling northbound, then struck the immobile Mercedes which then impacted the driver.

This crash is still currently under investigation, according to New Jersey State Police.
