Move over, New York! Miami steals title of America’s rudest city

Move over, New York. Miami has officially stolen your crown as America’s rudest city . The city of sunshine, palm trees and ocean breezes topped a new ranking of 70 US cities based on online complaints, social media gripes and internet searches about boorish behavior — while the Big Apple landed in fifth place in the nationwide ranking. Miami folks are good at kicking sand in your face, according to the new study. Luis Herrera/Stocksy – stock.adobe.com The study, conducted by Manhattan Mental Health Counseling , examined Yelp reviews, Reddit discussions and internet searches related to rude behavior, then crunched the findings into composite scores ranging from zero to 100. Miami scored 94.11 out of 100, beating Las Vegas, which earned 91.84 points. Memphis, Tenn., grabbed third place with 88.38 points, followed by Oakland, Calif., in fourth with 87.10. 7 California cities ranked among the best places to live in US NYC rounded out the top five with 83.58, suggesting New Yorkers haven’t exactly lost their edge — even if their reputation for bad behavior has migrated south. The nation’s gambling capital took second place in the survey. blackday – stock.adobe.com But New Yorkers can still claim one dubious distinction:

Democrats, DSA have to get along for blue wave to matter | Opinion

NEW YORK CITY — Crystal chandeliers. Marble columns. As much security as the airport. I walked into the New York Democrats' election night watch party at the Hilton in midtown, knowing I could only be there for a few minutes. With multiple parties happening across the city on Nov. 3, I would have had to clone myself to be everywhere I needed to be to watch as Democrats ushered in their blue wave . Would I go to the smaller Democratic Socialists of America's gathering or stay to watch as the establishment Democrats toasted success? I chose to check in on the DSA. Election night was more than a clear indication that voters are tired of MAGA. It was more than a clear message that Democrats won over voters . It was also a reminder that Democrats need to figure out how to work together. Progressives and moderates alike. Nothing made that clearer than their New York watch parties. El-Sayed asked Michigan voters to reject MAGA. They listened | Opinion One election night, two very different Democratic victory parties I started at the Manhattan hotel room where Democratic Gov. Kathy Hochul and Attorney General Letitia James would make their victory
