The 2024 class is set for the Edgerton Area Athletic Hall of Fame’s 23rd inductions.

This year’s inductees are Jimmy Eastman, Mark Gregory, Jill Hamill Sophia and Becky Witt Westrick.

Eastman was a three-sport athlete at Edgerton High School who helped lead the baseball team to the WIAA state semifinals as a senior in 1989. He went on to play and/or manage the Albion Tigers in Home Talent League baseball for 33 years.

Gregory, a 1982 graduate, also was three-sport athlete at Edgerton High. He was all-conference in football, basketball and baseball and played on four conference championship teams, including three as the Crimson Tide quarterback.

Hamill Sophia played multiple sports at Edgerton High, but she excelled in track and field. She was a WIAA state qualifier as a sophomore, junior and senior, and she was a member of the state championship 400-meter relay team in 1989. She also was the school record holder in the high jump and long jump.

Witt Westrick, a 1986 graduate, earned 10 letters at EHS, including track, cross country and cheerleading. She was a two-time conference champion in cross country and qualified for state all four years; as a three-time conference champion in track, she qualified for state on three occasions.

Those four will be inducted Saturday, April 20, at the Henry Street Social, located at 110 N. Henry St., Edgerton. The event will start with a 3 p.m. social hour, followed by the induction program at 4. Hors d’oeuvres will be served, and a cash bar will be available. There also will be a raffle to help offset the cost of the event, which will include gift certificates from Edgerton area businesses and Edgerton High athletic clothing.

The cost to attend the event is $20. Tickets can be purchased the day of the event or by contacting any hall of fame board member. Those members are Mike Gregory, Mona Reierson, Tony DeWar, Daryl Fox, Denise Langen, Russ Lietz, Katie Precourt, Mary Ross, Mina Fox-Rusch, Bob Samuelson and Mark Wanless.

The Edgerton Athletic Hall of Fame was founded in 1996 to honor athletes, coaches and friends of Edgerton athletics for their outstanding achievements and accomplishments. It currently has 75 individual members and Edgerton High’s 1990 state championship baseball team.
