DORCHESTER, Mass. (WWLP) – A man from Tisbury is the third $1 million prize winner in the Massachusetts State Lottery’s JAWS instant ticket game.
What are the rules for the new to-go mixed drink law in Massachusetts? Gecimar Silva is a painter and has lived on Martha’s Vineyard for 18 years, according to the Massachusetts State Lottery. Silva purchased the JAWS instant ticket because the movie was filmed where he lives and it is a new game.
He chose to receive his winnings in the form of a one-time payment of $650,000, before taxes. With not having been on vacation in 30 years, Silva plans to take a trip to Florida with his winnings. Silva claimed his ticket on Friday and purchased his winning ticket at Depot Market on Upper Main Street in Edgartown. The store itself receives a well-deserved $10,000 bonus for selling the ticket.
The JAWS instant ticket game promises even more excitement, with three additional instant grand prizes of $1 million up for grabs. In the recent Second Chance Drawing, six fortunate winners secured a JAWS-inspired getaway for two to Martha’s Vineyard in the summer of 2025. Four more drawings await, offering 24 additional trips to Martha’s Vineyard. During their stay, all 30 lucky winners will participate in a thrilling JAWS-themed game show, where one contestant is guaranteed to walk away with a jaw-dropping $1 million prize. Even those who don’t snag the grand prize will receive guaranteed winnings ranging from $500 to $10,000.
Trip winners are selected at random from non-winning tickets entered into Second Chance Drawings.
