    Maxine B. Bunch, 99, of 128 Gum Pond Road, and more recently of Edenton Prime Time, died on Sunday, April 21, 2024. Mrs. Bunch was born in Gates County on May 20, 1924, and was one of twelve children born to the late Osia and Sallie Stallings Bunch. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Elton Bunch; sisters, Virgie Riddick, Ethel Riddick, Eunice Hollowell, Eliza Chappell, Minnie Hollowell, Bernice Byrum, and Geraldine Bass; and by brothers, Paul, Garland, Otto, and McCoy Bunch. Formerly employed as a peanut grader at Seabrook Blanching Corp. in Edenton, she was a member of Rocky Hock Baptist Church. Surviving are two daughters, Judy B. Wiggins (husband, Alvah Roy Wiggins, deceased), and Sandra B. Roberson (husband, Billy), both of Edenton; two granddaughters, Penny Tillett (husband, Marshall) of Elizabeth City and Ginger Roberson of Washington, NC; two great-granddaughters, Casey Bunch (fiancé, Matthew Chappell) and Megan Bundy; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members. Funeral services were held Wednesday, April 24th, at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Miller & VanEssendelft Funeral Home & Crematory, 735 Virginia Road, Edenton, and were conducted by her pastor, The Rev.
