Mosley alum Jake Finch talks about huge win at Talladega over the weekend
PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) -To say this past weekend was a big weekend for Jake Finch would be a bit of an understatement. The 18 year old is still celebrating his first win on the ARCA National Series, with that win coming in the race in the General Tire 200 at Talladega Saturday. Not only did the Mosley alum win the race, he absolutely dominated it, going flag to flag, starting on the pole and leading all 76 laps in the number 20 Toyota. Jake showing some expertise as he held off four other drivers here in the final lap, eventually beating second place finisher Kris Wright by less than two-tenths of a second. Monday I spoke with Jake about what this win means to him! ”Yeah, obviously I try not to get too ahead of myself, right.” Jake told me via Zoom. “We’re still early in the season only being the second national series race, maybe the third. It’s a super big win, super big for my family, my friends and hopefully Lynn Haven as well. But I think the biggest thing is to try to regroup and get focused for the next race. And I think my goal for 2024 is to go out here and win absolutely as many races as I can. And prove not only to myself, but to other teams out there, you know that I can do this for a living. So hopefully we can keep doing this, and hopefully get a next step next year as well.”
